Head Coach Hugh Freeze Discusses Texas A&M Loss and Previews Deep South's Oldest
Auburn Head Coach Hugh Freeze met with the media to discuss the Tigers' loss to Texas A&M and preview their upcoming game against Mississippi State in the Deep South's Oldest rivalry.
Freeze began by addressing the loss, stating that he was disappointed with the team's performance but that he saw some positive signs moving forward.
"We made too many mistakes," Freeze said. "We had too many penalties, too many turnovers, and we didn't execute our game plan well enough. But I saw some good things from our team as well. We showed a lot of heart and determination, and we never gave up."
Freeze then turned his attention to Mississippi State, calling them a "well-coached team with a lot of talent." He said the Tigers would need to be prepared for a tough game.
"Mississippi State is a very good team," Freeze said. "They're well-coached, they have a lot of talent, and they're playing with a lot of confidence right now. We're going to need to be at our best to beat them."
Freeze also provided updates on several injured players. He said that quarterback Robby Ashford is day-to-day with an ankle injury and that running back Tank Bigsby is questionable with a shoulder injury.
The Tigers will host the Mississippi Bulldogs on Saturday, September 16, at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
