Denmark Kick Off Euro 2024 Campaign With Draw
Denmark's Euro 2024 squad kicked off their campaign in Germany with a 1-1 draw against Slovenia in their Group C opener.
The Danes, who are ranked 10th in the world, were held by a resilient Slovenia side in a tight contest in Cologne.
Denmark took the lead in the first half through a well-taken goal from Andreas Skov Olsen, but Slovenia leveled just before the hour mark through a fine strike from Benjamin Sesko.
Both sides had chances to win the game in the closing stages, but neither team could find a winning goal.
The result leaves Denmark in third place in Group C, behind Slovenia and Spain, who beat Czech Republic 2-0 in the other game in the group.
Denmark will face Spain in their next game on Saturday, while Slovenia will take on Czech Republic.
