EHF Champions League: Aalborg stuns Magdeburg to reach second final
Kevin Møller's heroics in goal inspires Danish side to 33-30 aggregate victory
Aalborg Handbold stunned reigning champions SC Magdeburg to reach the EHF Champions League final for the second time in three years.
After a 30-28 first-leg victory in Denmark, Aalborg secured a 33-30 aggregate win with a 23-22 triumph in Germany on Sunday.
Kevin Møller was the hero for Aalborg, making 17 saves in the second leg, including a crucial stop from Omar Ingi Magnusson in the dying seconds.
Aalborg will now face either Paris Saint-Germain or HBC Nantes in the final on 18 June in Cologne.
It is a remarkable achievement for Aalborg, who have never won the Champions League before.
They will be hoping to emulate the success of their domestic rivals, GOG, who won the trophy in 2021.
