Hurricane Dorian Sends Cruise Ships Scrambling in the Caribbean

Cruise Lines Adjust Itineraries as Storm Approaches

Carnival Cruise Line Diverts Jacksonville Departures

As Hurricane Dorian strengthens in the Caribbean, cruise lines are scrambling to adjust their itineraries to avoid the storm's path. Carnival Cruise Line has diverted the departures of several ships scheduled to leave from Jacksonville, Florida.

The Carnival Vista, Carnival Legend, and Carnival Ecstasy have all had their departures delayed or canceled. The Vista was scheduled to leave on Saturday, but its departure has been moved to Sunday. The Legend and Ecstasy were both scheduled to leave on Sunday, but their departures have been canceled.

Carnival is also offering refunds or credits to passengers who booked on the affected sailings. Passengers can contact Carnival's customer service department for more information.

Other cruise lines are also monitoring Dorian's path and may adjust their itineraries as necessary. Royal Caribbean has already canceled a sailing from San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Norwegian Cruise Line has canceled a sailing from St. Thomas.

Hurricane Dorian is expected to strengthen to a Category 4 hurricane by the end of the week. The storm is currently moving west-northwest at 12 mph and is expected to make landfall in Florida by early next week.
