WEB: The Finger Points to Piazza Affari
A Bold Statement in the Heart of Milan
WEB (Where Everybody's Busy)
In 2010, renowned artist Maurizio Cattelan made a striking statement in the heart of Milan's business district. His sculpture, simply titled "WEB," became a symbol of the city's economic vitality and the relentless pursuit of success.
The sculpture, known colloquially as "Il Dito" (The Finger), was strategically placed in the center of Piazza Affari, directly in front of the Italian Stock Exchange. Its towering presence, with a hand gesturing upwards, seemed to point accusatorily at the financial institutions that dominated the square.
