FLNG Units Pioneer Offshore LNG Production

New Fortress Energy NFE shipped its first cargo from its Fast LNG 1 project, an offshore development located in Altamira, Mexico. The shipment marks a significant milestone for the company and the Mexican energy sector.

NFE's Fast LNG 1 is the first of its kind in Mexico and one of the first in the world. The floating liquefied natural gas FLNG unit is designed to produce liquefied natural gas LNG from natural gas sources located offshore.

The start-up of Mexico's first liquefaction project will contribute new demand at the Agua Dulce hub in South Texas. The hub is already home to several LNG import terminals and is expected to become a major center for LNG trading in the coming years.
